From whole pigs to half pigs, to shoulders prepared either the normal 5-hour sliced way, or the 24-hour pulled way. Have a look at some of our hog roast options below.
Some of Our Hog Roasts
Hog Roast Crackling
Our half-pig and whole-pig hog roast options come with skin, and so you will get cracking if you choose one of these. Crackling is tricky to get right on our wood-fired grills due to the lower temperatures they operate at, but we’ve mastered the art!
The result being that, if you choose our half-pig or whole-pig hog roast options, you’ll get beautifully pink smoked crackling as well – the likes of which you and your guests have most likely never ever seen or tasted before!
Crackling is best served straight off the grill as an appetiser, and will normally be ready about an hour or so before your main course serving time when we start carving your hog roast. So remember that, when ordering a half-pig or whole-pig from us, there is an appetiser included with it in the form of crackling.
Creating Your Hog Roast Menu
We have an itemized menu so, for example, if you order any of the hog roasts you see on our menu, note that you will get that item i.e. meat only.
Therefore, remember to add salads, starches, bread rolls and any sides for your hog roast, separately, by browsing the rest of our catering menus.
Below are some of the sides and accompaniments we can serve with your hog roast for you. We’d be delighted to serve some canapes and desserts for you too.
Some Hog Roast Side Dishes
Hog Roasts on the Spit
One thing you won’t find on our menu is a ‘spit roast’ i.e. an animal rotating on a rotisserie. The reason is simple: our wood-fired grills are in fact convection ovens, with the heat coming from all sides. Whereas the reason you have an animal rotating on a spit is if the heat is coming from one direction only. Therefore there is no need for us to have our hog roasts rotating on a spit.
Other Animal Roasts
We not only do hog roasts, but also lamb roasts and ox roasts – each prepared with prime cuts from the various animals. In the case of our lamb roasts we usually do legs of lamb, while in the case of our ox roasts were usually do rolled beef fore rib.
Rolled beef fore rib is a very special type of roast, essentially being deboned beef ribs that are rolled together with the ribeye. Cooked to medium, as we do in our grills, the fat renders and becomes self-basting; creating a truly fantastic result.
